Reservations

We require a $100 deposit to reserve your flight.  This deposit is applied directly to the total cost of your flight. The remaining cost of your flight can be paid in person, after your flight (cash or credit cards accepted).

Our online booking process is quick and easy!  Once payment is submitted, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with your flight details.  Please check all spam/junk/promotion folders for email correspondence if you do not see an e-mail within a few minutes of booking.  Also, please review our Cancellation Policy below before booking.

All flights occur shortly after sunrise, and launch times vary throughout the year.  Your pilot will confirm the meeting time and location by phone the day before your flight.

If the date you wanted to fly is unavailable on our calendar, please give us a call and we can put you on our waiting list in case someone cancels their flight.

Cancellation Policy

Hot air ballooning is dependent on the weather. We reserve the right to delay, postpone, or cancel any flight due to unfavorable weather or other safety considerations. If a flight is cancelled by Western Horizons Hot Air Balloons, we will then work with you to reschedule your flight to another mutually agreed upon date. If we are not able to reschedule, you will be refunded your $100 deposit.

If you have booked a flight and you would like to cancel or reschedule, we require at least a 48-hour notice prior to the time of your scheduled flight. Please call us to cancel or reschedule your flight. If you cancel less than 48-hours before your scheduled flight or if you don't show up for your scheduled flight, your $100 deposit will not be refunded.

4 Things to Consider Before Booking Your Flight

1.  Due to insurance restrictions, we cannot fly anyone who is pregnant or anyone under the age of 6 years old.

2.  Fit for Flight.  We want to make sure you are a good candidate to fly with us. One question we ask our prospective passengers is, "If you were to jump off a kitchen chair, would you experience pain somewhere in your body (knee, back, neck, or other problems)?"  The reason we ask this is because sometimes we have soft and gentle landings and other times we have faster, sporty landings. If you do not have pain in your body when jumping off your kitchen chair, then most likely you will not have a problem with a sporty landing, which can have about the same amount of impact or jarring.  If you have concerns about a sporty landing, we encourage you to call us to discuss your concerns before booking your flight.

3.  You will need to dress appropriately for your hot air balloon ride. We recommend you wear long pants and closed toe shoes. No flip-flops or sandals. We also recommend bringing a jacket and dressing in layers, similar to the way you would dress if you were going on a hike.

4.  Our flights occur shortly after sunrise.  While booking your flight, please consider that sunrise times vary throughout the year. We will plan to meet you about 15 minutes prior to the sunrise time. We will contact you the day before your reserved flight to confirm your flight plans with meeting time and location. The launch site will be dependent on the direction of the winds. We will be meeting at the Mammoth Site or the Hot Springs Airport (depending on the direction of the winds), but we will confirm the meeting time and location the day before your flight.  If the forecast weather does not look good for the morning of your flight, we will discuss the possibility of rescheduling your flight to another day.
